EDP in Climate Week

We’re present in one of the most important moments of the year that brings together leaders and world decision makers: Climate Week and the opening of the 74th United Nations General Assembly (that will take place from September 17th to 30th).

During this period, some high-level events will take place, with a special highlight for the UN Climate Action Summit, in September 23rd.

During this week, the world is watching New York, where a range of events related to Climate Action reinforces the urge of being ambitious to limit the global warm increase up to 1.5ºC. That’s only possible with a new dynamic of joining efforts from many players – from countries, cities, private sector, academy and civil society.

EDP and the Sustainable Development Goals

Sustainable development is the base of our strategy. We’re recognized as one of the most sustainable companies in the world and we have clear commitments and goals that demonstrate our effort for decarbonization.

With these partnerships we know the main tendencies, we participate in collaborative works and projects and in the formulation and discussion os public policies. Our main goal is to develop solutions that promote the transition for more resilient and balanced societies. We take part in markets transformation and, at the same time, we create value.

We’ve been participating in the most relevant international sustainable development forums, with a focus on climate action. This includes high-level UN meetings and the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
