With more than 650 GW installed worldwide, wind energy is a booming industry with very good growth prospects. The sector offers good job opportunities, especially in areas such Operation and Maintenance of the parks. Also, within the Solar Energy sector, there are also opportunities for the development of talent and training.
Technical course on operation and maintenance of wind farms
With the support of several strategic partners, we’ve created a wind farm maintenance technician course aimed especially at students who live in areas with low population density and low levels of employment in the municipalities where the wind farms are installed. This training project contributes to job and wealth creation in rural areas as a solution to depopulation. Applications to our Wind Farm Maintenance Technician Course are now open.
Dates: Registration from March 6 to April 3; Course start on April 22; Course end on June 20.
Requirements: Be between 18 and 30 years old; Be in possession of a compulsory secondary education certificate; Be registered in one of the towns where EDP projects will be developed
Modality: 176 hours of training in a semi-presential format: theory is taught online while practice is in person at the VESTAS operation and maintenance centre in Zaragoza (Centrovía); GWO practices for work at height and first aid will also be in Zaragoza; Practices in wind farms will be carried out at the EDP-VESTAS park closest to each student's place of residence.
Upskilling and reskilling within the energy sector
Development of projects within the scope of renewable energy, to meet future labor needs and guarantee that former coal workers, people living in communities close to EDP’s production centers and other minorities have job opportunities. This program is being developed in different countries such as Spain, Italy and Brazil and has graduated up to 930 students in energy careers
Income share Agreement Courses
Courses run under an income share agreement for the general population. EDP will cover 100% of the tuition of the courses within the energy sector and the student will pay us back if, and only if, they get a minimum gross income after finishing the course. It will be available soon in Portugal and Spain
Professional Courses
Courses that give equivalence to the 12th grade in Portugal. The E-REDES program supports the journey of students in the Electrical Networks Technician Course, a professional secondary education course that contributes to your integration into the job market. During the course, E-REDES proposes various initiatives to strengthen engagement with students, teachers, and schools, promoting quality professional education tailored to the needs of the sector.
