EDP Trainee Program opens global applications for paid internships

Monday 17, March 2025

Applications are open for paid internships in the company's global trainee program, with the aim of attracting and retaining talent, enriching their professional and personal experiences. Applications for the program begin today in the four global regions where the company operates.

EDP is now launching the 8th edition of the EDP Trainee Program, a global program lasting nine months, aimed at candidates from the four global regions where the company operates: Europe, North America, South America and Asia Pacific. Applications are open until 11th April.

Key characteristics such as courage, curiosity, collaboration and a vision for the future are essential for candidates of the new edition of the EDP Trainee Program, which will begin on Monday, 17 March.

Under the motto “Hidden Gen”, the global campaign of this edition transports us into the new generation of change agents about to be discovered. It presents a creative concept which states, like uncut precious stones, and in the context of an increasingly challenging labour market, great talents are rare, valuable and full of potential. This new edition values diversity and seeks students with masters or recent graduates from all areas of training and nationalities, who have mastered English and have up to two years of professional experience, to undergo a further professional experience lasting nine months at EDP.

The application phase that is now beginning, as well as the entire recruitment process, is entirely online. Upon completion of the selection process, trainees will be welcomed and integrated into the group in September this year. Throughout the program, trainees will have the opportunity to carry out two four-month rotations between different areas or companies in the group. At the end of the internship – which will be paid – trainees may have the opportunity to join any company of the EDP group in the different markets.

This program aims to value the professional experience of trainees, encouraging them to actively participate in the creation of innovative solutions for the energy sector and strengthen their personal and professional skills, promoting a positive and innovative work environment that stimulates collaboration and agile decision-making. In addition, the program offers the opportunity to join a flexible, healthy and inclusive workplace.

EDP assumes itself as a world leader in the energy sector and operates in four main fields (Renewable Production Assets, Networks, Customer Solutions and Global Energy Management), with about 13,000 employees worldwide. It also stands out in the market due to the unique work experience it provides to its people, recognised by international external entities such as the Top Employers Institute and Forbes.
