At EDP we continue to seek more and better knowledge to innovate the energy sector and meet the inherent challenges of the current energy transition.
On a daily basis, EDP collects data from a dense network of sensors distributed throughout the entire energy value chain, from production to the commercialization of energy. The data held by EDP is a source of value and knowledge that can be easily converted into challenging projects and the continuous optimization of processes and algorithms.
The EDP Open Data project is an online platform conceived from an "open" perspective that aims to promote active collaboration between stakeholders and the community through the sharing of EDP's operational asset data and research projects.
Dynamism is regularly injected into the platform through challenges of real interest to the energy sector, encouraging the scientific community, universities and startups to share their findings.
Currently, the EDP Open Data platform features data from a photovoltaic technology research project - Sunlab - and one of the EDP Renováveis' wind farms. We will soon provide more data related to several of EDP's business units.
