EDP and China Three Gorges inaugurated the facilities of the New Energy World (NEW) research center today, thus launching the technological cooperation protocol announced earlier this year.
Located in Sacavém, NEW combines the skills of Labelec (Labelec - Estudos, Desenvolvimento e Actividades Laboratoriais, an EDP subsidiary) and SIDRI (Shanghai Investigation, Design & Research Institute, a CTG subsidiary).
The new center will focus on new energies research and mutual technical assistance, while also supporting the companies' joint participation in international projects developed by other entities.
CTG president Lu Chun and EDP Executive President António Mexia have launched today this new axis in the global partnership announced by the two companies in 2011.
