Cavaliers of Fun are the big winners of EDP Live Bands

Wednesday 03, June 2015

The band plays in July at NOS Alive and Bilbao BBK Live.

Inspired by the '80s, the Cavaliers of Fun were the great revelation of the 2nd edition of EDP Live Bands. Ricco Vitali (Ricardo Coelho) - founder of the project - Nikko (Miguel Nicolau) and Pedrosa (John Pedrosa) were selected by the jury when performing in front of an effusive audience last Friday night at the LX Factory in Lisbon.

The three members of futuristic pop band are now offered a new stage and other flights: the stage of the NOS Alive in Lisbon and Bilbao BBK Live by next July. In addition to this unique opportunity, the Cavaliers of Fun will still record a CD with Sony Music - partner of this project, along with Everything Is New; Blitz and Rádio Comercial

Considering the high quality of the eight finalists, the jury also awarded an honorable mention to Daniel Kemish, singer/ songwriter of outlaw country, an uncommon and hardly European style that earned him this extra award. The warm, husky voice of Daniel Kemish will join the other guests of the 'Nos Alive', when the singer will unveil some of his songs in the style of the first outlaw singers.

For Paulo Campos Costa, Director of Brand and Communications at EDP, 'the success of this second edition has demonstrated the need for initiatives of this nature, a space for young artists to exhibit their work and try to open doors in the music world. It is therefore a commitment that EDP is proud of and which will certainly continue to invest in.'

In this 2nd edition of the EDP Live Bands contest, more than 300 bands participated, resulting in eight finalists. In addition to the visibility gained, the finalists also participated in a workshop on how to make a career in the music world. Useful advice given by renowned agents linked to the music industry.

In addition to the investment in this new edition of EDP Live Bands, 2015 is again a year of big commitment to the music world. EDP reclaims its position as the official energy of music, supporting a set of events and music festivals that will take place in the coming months within and outside of Portugal.'
