Hydroelectric power of 219 MW, investment of around EUR 342 million located in the state of Amapá in Brazil

The Cachoeira Caldeirão Dam in Brazil has now entered into full production 8 months ahead of schedule.
he hydroelectric project is operated by EDP Brasil in partnership with CWEI Brasil Participações, a company owned by China Three Gorges (CCGT).
'This is the second hydroelectric plant that we have delivered ahead of schedule and within the planned budget since 2014. The first was the Santo Antônio do Jari Power Plant with a capacity of 373.4 MW, showing the consistency of the building model adopted by EDP Brasil for infrastructure projects, 'said Miguel Setas, CEO of EDP Brazil.
The hydroelectric plant which began construction in August 2013 has three power producing groups, totalling power of 219 MW. EDP Brasil thus reaches an installed capacity of 2.8 GW, a number that will advance to 3 GW by 2018 when works for the São Manoel Hydroelectric Plant are finalized.
The project built on the Araguari River in the state of Amapá uses water line operation, a configuration in which there is low volume of accumulated water for energy production. The implied investment is R$1.2 billion, about 342 million euros.
EDP Brasil operates in the areas of generation, distribution and commercialization of energy. It has representation in eight states (Amapá, Ceará, Espírito Santo, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pará, São Paulo and Tocantins) with more than 3 million customers.
