Thursday 25, June 2020

The Fundacom Awards have distinguished the best communication projects produced in Castilian and Portuguese.

EDP won in the Internal Event of up to 500 employees category with the Encontro Global de Comunicação ("Global Communication Meeting" in English) and in the External Event with more than 1,000 people category with the EDP Knock Out Pitch @WebSummit.

EDP Knock Out Pitch, a space created in the latest edition of the Web Summit for startups to present their business ideas to EDP, was distinguished by being placed in the category of "External Event for more than 1,000 people". Designed as a boxing ring placed on an elevated platform, this space allowed entrepreneurs to fight for their project before EDP for an allocated time of one minute. During the three days of the Web Summit, EDP Knock Out Pitch received more than 400 candidates - a record compared to previous editions. This initiative brings EDP closer to startups, one of the strategic goals of the innovation area.

In the “Internal Event of up to 500 employees” category, the EDP Group's "Encontro Global de Comunicação", held in 2019, was the winning project. Under the motto “Revolution”, it brought together employees from the brand and communication departments of all geographical regions, in a teambuilding action aiming to share achievements and align strategies for the future.

The Fundacom Awards recognize excellence and good practices in public relations and organizational communication in all its aspects - external, internal and integrated - rewarding the best communication projects produced and disseminated in the Spanish and / or Portuguese languages. For EDP, these awards are the recognition of the work and effort of a team that always seeks to excel in each project. This year's awards were announced yesterday, in a ceremony broadcast on Youtube.
