For two days, EDP gathered more than 6,000 employees at the 'Annual Meeting' at Altice Arena in Lisbon. Driven by the motto 'made of us', this event held at the beginning of the year (even before the Covid-19 pandemic imposed restrictions on a global scale) involved EDP workers in Portugal in a unique meeting. In addition to allowing this meeting, the event was marked by an immersive experience created by the 180º projection and by the surrounding scenography that reinforced the spirit of belonging, pride and unity of the teams. A project that now earns EDP the distinction of one of the best in the category of 'Meeting, Convention & Incentive', by BEA World, which rewards the best events worldwide.

Another area that deserved a prominent place for EDP in this competition is sports, where the company maintains a clear and continuous commitment. Forced to stop, like so many other organizations, and to find alternatives for the promotion of sports, in September EDP decided to resume one of the first surfing events with the EDP Surf Experience. The main objective of this project was to provide a different experience and day for several children from social solidarity institutions who, in addition to surfing classes, also had the opportunity to participate in a yoga class, as well as drawing and painting workshops with João Cardoso, better known as Cardoz. This initiative placed EDP on the short list of the 'Non-profit / CSR Event' category of BEA World

The Best Event Awards (BEA) are considered one of the main recognitions in the events industry worldwide, rewarding their excellence through evaluation criteria, such as creativity and innovation. The BEAs take place within the context of the BEA World Festival, on December 14th. The International Festival of Events and Live Communication, as it is called, is the right place for the event community to meet and discuss its future.

In the 2019 edition, EDP received two silver awards in the category Use of Technology and Sustainable Innovation with the activation project in the music area 'Transforming Music Festivals'
