NOS and EDP Comercial come together to provide relevant benefits to their customers while contributing to a greener world. Thus, they reinforce the sustainability values common to both companies, in line with the carbon neutrality goal of the European Ecological Pact and with the objectives of energy and digital transition in Portugal. 

Thanks to this partnership, customers of both companies will be offered twice as much mobile data contracted in NOS communications packages, and an additional 1% discount on energy services (electricity and gas) contracted with EDP Comercial, being the electricity 100% green, produced from renewable sources. In this way, they help to make a decisive contribution to the decarbonisation of the planeta.com the commitment to supply green electricity. 

In the case of new EDP Comercial customers and EDP Pack Living customers, who already have access to additional benefits in energy, leisure and others, the discount increases to 2%, and may even reach 8% (depending on the tariff), always with the guarantee that 100% of the electricity in your home or business is green. These new customers are also awarded a NOS voucher worth 25 euros for the purchase of a smartphone.

This partnership covers individual customers and SME customers of both companies and has no impact on loyalty periods in contracts with NOS. The activation is 100% digital and can take place through the NOS app or the EDP Zero app, allowing for quick access to the provided benefits.

The two companies had already taken an important step towards energy sustainability in the Iberian Peninsula, when they announced, last May, an agreement to purchase renewable electricity in the long term (PPA – Power Purchase Agreement). Innovative and pioneer in the national market, this PPA contract, worth more than 32 million euros, has a duration of more than 10 years and presupposes the construction of a new wind farm, as well as the supply of 62 GWh of electricity per year, which will allow NOS to have, already in 2023, 40% of its operation powered by this green energy.

Partnerships like this allow investment in new renewable assets, which reduce dependence on fossil fuels and contribute to the energy transition, a change that NOS and EDP consider essential in Portuguese society and fundamental on the path to digital transformation, in which we want to be active agents.
