Pursuant to the terms and for the purposes of article 244 of the Portuguese Securities code and of the CMVM Regulation 5/2008, EDP - Energias de Portugal, S.A. (“EDP”) is providing the following information to the market:

On January 31st, 2018, State Street Corporation notified EDP that, in accordance with article 20 of the Portuguese Securities Code, it had reached a qualifying shareholding of 73,143,774 ordinary shares of EDP, which correspond to a total of 2.00% of EDP’s share capital and of the respective voting rights. This threshold was reached by State Street Corporation on January 25th, 2018. 

State Street Corporation also informed that the chain of entities relevant for the calculation of the significant shareholding, in accordance with number 1 of article 20 of the Portuguese Securities Code, that you can consult on the attachment.
