Adding up our differences means going further, bringing together different points of view and ways of seeing the world, integrating all dimensions, and being inclusive in a conscious way.

In order to contribute to SDG no. 5, we have adopted several measures to boost gender diversity at EDP.

We thus intend to:

Increase the number of female employees to 30% until 2025.

Our initiatives:

Electrician course for women

Having noticed that all 300 students trained at our Electricians School in Brazil were male, we came to the conclusion that this was an excellent opportunity for change. We wanted to counter the idea that there are different jobs for men and women, so we created three women-only Schools.

The course offers 550 hours of training and provides the necessary skills to work as a professional electrician. This initiative was born from a partnership between EDP Brasil and the National Service for Industrial Learning (SENAI).

Equality KPI

The diversity KPI applies to all employees and management bodies

Tag Your Future

The Tag Your Future project was created to bring students closer to the job market and counter the idea that there are specific jobs for each gender.

Launched in 2017, the project was aimed at students between the ages of 12 and 18, and involved some 1,000 schools across the country.

Unconscious Bias Training

This course aims to raise the awareness of EDP Group employees on the unconscious prejudices and stereotypes that sometimes affect our decision-making processes.

By 2018, over 1600 employees had attended the Unconscious Bias Training, which amounts to more than 6500 hours of training.
