We rigorously implement a transparency policy, giving a voice to anyone who encounters conduct they believe breaches ethical principles, legislative provisions or internal standards. To enable this reporting, we provide various "Speak up" channels, which strictly follow the legal requirements regarding whistle-blowing and are easily accessible to anyone wishing to use them.

EDP channel

Speak up

The EDP Speak up channel has global coverage and gathers reports of alleged breaches of the Code of Ethics or legislative provisions – particularly those in the recently published Portuguese Whistle-blower Protection Law (Law no. 93/2021, of 20 December) – as well as internal policies and regulations. The interested parties of any company in the EDP group can make use of this channel.

There are also Speak up channels in various EDP group companies, where any complaint may be reported regarding the matters set out in the above-mentioned legislation.

The EDP group also provides autonomous Speak up channels for the E-REDES – Distribuição de Eletricidade, S.A. and SU ELETRICIDADE, S.A companies. These channels are available for interested parties to report any violation, whether ethical, legal or resulting from failing to observe internal standards.

All companies in the EDP group make an explicit commitment to protect whistle-blowers, providing suitable processes, procedures and reporting channels for this purpose. This commitment is predicated on full respect for the principle that anyone who uses the reporting methods in good faith and with justification will be protected from censure or retaliation.

Processes have been designed and implemented to ensure that the complaints are handled and managed with total security, independence, integrity and privacy. Communication, which may be two-way, can be conducted anonymously. All information exchanged is kept confidential and secured against unauthorised access, so that personal data protection is assured.

Whistleblowing Management Regulation

For further clarification, consult the whistleblowing management regulation, that establishes the rules applicable to the procedure for receiving, handling, resolving and recording reports of complaints received by EDP Group companies with their registered offices in Portugal.
