EDP to power Turek dairy products production

EDP Energia Polska, a Polish division of EDP group - a European leader in distributed solar generation-, has signed a partnership with Turek, a renowned manufacturer of dairy products, to install solar panels that will be able to power Turek’s facilities in the city of Turek and reduce both CO2 emissions and energy costs.

Under this agreement, EDP will install 1,500 solar panels to provide clean and locally produced energy to the company's production lines. With an installed capacity of 1 MWp, the solar panels will be able to generate over 1 GWh of clean energy annually. This production is expected to reduce Turek’s carbon dioxide emissions by 685 tons annually compared to grid power consumption, which equals the CO2 absorption capacity of more than 114,000 mature trees over a year.

This deal was signed under EDP’s As-a-Service financial model, through which EDP is responsible for the initial investment, operation, and maintenance of the solar installation for the entire contract period, allowing Turek to have long-term visibility and flexibility.

At EDP we are honored to partner with Turek, a flagship Polish brand. This agreement showcases the commitment of Turek to decarbonize its daily operations through clean energy produced by EDP’s solar panels. We believe that sustainable development is the key to increasing the competitiveness of Polish companies and represents the future of the Polish economy.

We are very pleased that, after a long period of preparation, we are launching the solar panel project to power our facility. This investment is part of a series of decarbonisation initiatives aimed at fulfilling the commitments we have made as a company to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. It is our first step towards achieving the goal of 100% green energy for our plant. We particularly value our partnership with EDP for their professionalism and flexibility in shaping our joint project
