Interconnection Protection Test
The EDP Labelec Metering team performed another interconnection protection test after obtaining E-REDES accreditation in February 2025. This recognition positions EDP Labelec as one of the first entities nationwide to be officially certified for the Supervision of Primary Tests, Interconnection Protection, Differential Protection, and SCADA Database tests.
The E-REDES Recognition Program is intended for the execution of the following types of work:
- Supervision of interconnection protection tests;
- Supervision of line differential protection tests;
- Supervision of primary and secondary injection tests;
- Supervision of Real SCADA Database tests.
These services are conducted at private facilities of promoters or clients, in accordance with the technical specifications and testing protocols defined by E-REDES. The accreditation allows EDP Labelec to operate across all the aforementioned areas, reinforcing its commitment to quality, safety, and innovation in the energy sector.
The facilities covered include the promoter type, namely UPAC (Self-Consumption Production Units) and UPP (Small Production Units), in compliance with the regulations in effect at the time of contract award.
This milestone marks another important step in establishing EDP Labelec as a national reference in the supervision and testing of protection and control systems, contributing to the reliability and efficiency of Portugal’s electrical networks.
