Project overview

Black Prairie Solar will be located within our Meadow Lake Wind Farm over a mile west of Chalmers, Indiana. The project will be located mainly in Prairie Township, where the soil is black and productive, a result of the swamps that once occupied the land. Black Prairie will also be our first hybrid wind and solar project in White County. The land is flat and primarily planted with corn and soybeans.

Economic benefits

Black Prairie Solar yields significantly in the form of payments to landowners, local spending, and annual community investment. Black Prairie Solar is also compatible with other land uses and provides a stable form of income to local landowners.
