Edgeware Energy Storage
Project overview
Edgeware Energy Storage Project will be located in the City of St. Thomas in Elgin County, Ontario. The Project was awarded a contract under the Independent Electricity System Operator’s (IESO) Long-Term 1 procurement in May 2024.
Under the terms of the 20-year contract, the Edgeware Energy Storage Project will sell the energy, capacity, and ancillary services delivered from the 75-megawatt (300MWh) energy storage facility to the IESO. It is targeted to reach commercial operations in 2028.
EDP Renewables is proud to partner with the Caldwell First Nation on the Edgeware Energy Storage Project. A portion of the proceeds generated from the project's operation will benefit the Caldwell community directly.
