EDP supports seven new entrepreneurial projects in Asturias that boost local employment and sustainability
Oviedo, November 14, 2025. EDP has announced the projects selected in Asturias as part of the 6th edition of Entama, its program to support local entrepreneurship that promotes job creation, population stabilisation and sustainability in rural areas. In this new call for proposals, seven Asturian initiatives have joined the network of ventures supported by the company, bringing diversity, innovation and commitment to their environment
Among those selected, Astroturismo La Melera stands out, a project located in the council of Aller that will combine rural accommodation and stargazing in an exceptional setting with low light pollution. This newly created cottage will offer sustainable and responsible tourism experiences, attracting visitors and creating local jobs linked to the tourism sector.
In the same council, Jarascada Mountain and Nature Guides will broaden its ecotourism activities by adding new wildlife observation equipment and designing routes in different areas of the territory. Its business model is based on active, responsible and quality tourism. This approach strengthens the economy of the Asturian natural environment and generates new job opportunities.
On the other hand, in Morcín, the San Andrés Tourist Complex will restore an emblematic area of the council by refurbishing a set of rural apartments and a restaurant with capacity for over a hundred diners. This initiative will contribute to the revitalisation of inland tourism and the creation of stable employment in the hospitality industry by taking a sustainable, visitor-focused approach.
From the council of Carreño comes Formato Papel, an artisanal project that revives the tradition of manual binding to create custom albums, diaries and notebooks. The proposal combines craftmanship, art, educational activities and female entrepreneurship, reinforcing the cultural identity of rural communities.
In Santo Adriano, two projects reinforce Entama's commitment to health, innovation and sustainability. Hidromiel Zángana, a company that produces this traditional drink, will incorporate a new reusable barrel-bottling line, which will help to increase its production capacity and strengthen its presence in the hospitality industry, while reducing its environmental impact. Meanwhile, Nutrition Valles del Trubia will expand its wellness and physiotherapy services, offering personalized treatments and physical training plans designed to improve the health of the elderly in rural areas.
Finally, in Belmonte de Miranda, Mawenya Jardín will combine nature, art and emotional well-being through the production of organic cut flowers and the creation of a space designed for introspection and connection with nature. This setting, which will host workshops and sensory activities, will generate self-employment and new opportunities for development in the area.
In its six editions, Entama has supported a total of 73 projects, invested more than € 740,000 and generated more than 400 local jobs, consolidating itself as one of EDP's initiatives with the greatest social impact in Spain.
