Prairie Queen 7

Project Overview

Prairie Queen Wind Farm is located in northeastern Allen County, near the cities of Moran and La Harpe. The project complements the area's mixed agricultural landscape and provides local farmers with a stable, drought-resistant cash crop in the form of landowner lease payments.

Energy Output

Prairie Queen Wind Farm has an installed capacity of 199.275 megawatts (MW). Prairie Queen's generation is equivalent to the consumption of more than 59,000 Kansas homes.

Benefits

Environment

Prairie Queen Wind Farm saves more than 355 million gallons of water each year and displaces carbon emissions from fossil fuel power plants, a major contributor to climate change. Wind energy also enhances air quality by helping to mitigate the health effects of harmful air pollutants.

Landowners

Prairie Queen Wind Farm is compatible with other land uses and provides a stable form of income to local landowners. Millions of dollars will be paid to the wind farm’s landowners through the life of the project.  Supportive landowners participate in long-term lease and easement agreements that cover turbines, access roads, and transmission corridors.

Technology

Made in the USA

The vast majority of wind farm equipment is manufactured in the United States.
