South Branch Wind Farm
Project overview
South Branch Wind Farm is located approximately 20 kilometers south of the town of Winchester and 70 kilometers south of the nation’s capital, Ottawa. The agricultural land is used to grow corn and soybeans as well as for dairy farming. The wind farm takes its name directly from the South Branch River that runs through the middle of the project. South Branch is located entirely inside the municipality of South Dundas, in the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas, and Glengarry.
Notice
One of EDPR NA's South Branch turbines has experienced isolated blade damage, which will result in the unit being offline until the blades are replaced.
At this time, no issues are anticipated with the remaining turbines. This appears to be an isolated event, and the project operations team is actively conducting inspections across all other equipment to determine the cause of the incident and ensure continued safe operation.
As a precaution, we kindly ask all community members to stay clear of the affected area while repairs and inspections are underway. Safety is our top priority, and we appreciate all cooperation.
