EDP Solidarity Energy

Energy inclusion
Since 2015, the Fundación EDP has been driving initiatives that promote:
- Energy efficiency
- Fair access to energy
- Rural development
- Improving the quality of life for older people, especially in areas affected by depopulation
EDP Solidarity Energy is now the Fundación EDP’s flagship program in Spain, supporting innovative social projects that contribute to a fairer energy transition.
Program purpose
To ensure that the shift toward a cleaner and more efficient energy model does not create new inequalities but instead becomes an opportunity for development for people, communities, and the environment.
Program evolution
- 2015:
Launched as EDP Solidaria (EDP Solidarity), with a broad focus aimed at non-profit social organizations. - 2023:
Evolved into EDP Solidarity Energy, aligning with the global strategy of the EDP Group and strengthening its commitment to sustainability and equity.
Areas of intervention
Each year, the program opens a call for applications aimed at social organizations developing projects in one of the following areas:
- Knowledge, inclusion, and energy efficiency
- Renewable energy and sustainable mobility
- Natural heritage, biodiversity, and circular economy
- Climate action and education
More than funding
EDP Solidarity Energy goes beyond financial support.
It provides guidance, close collaboration, and active listening to participating organizations, valuing:
- The quality of ideas
- The transformative potential of projects
A strategic partner
Through this initiative, Fundación EDP establishes itself as a strategic ally of civil society in building an energy future that is:
+ Sustainable
+ Inclusive
