Objective: Design and prototyping of a mounting bracket for metering systems, as an alternative to an obsolete product that is no longer commercially available.

Purpose: Extend the useful life of measurement probes used by the energy meter testing unit – EDP Labelec.

Process: Parametric 3D CAD design, rapid prototyping/digital manufacturing using techniques of additive manufacturing (3D printing) and subtractive manufacturing (laser cutting and engraving). Machining of components on a lathe.

Method: 3D modelling in Solidworks; laser cutting and engraving of acrylic components; 3D printing of components; assembly of various mechanical components.
