The EDPartners Awards acknowledge projects developed by those suppliers who have shown a stronger commitment to the
EDP Group's goals.

Competition Categories

This award distinguishes projects that enhance customers' perception of EDP’s outstanding service. Customers should be organizations outside the EDP Group, either household (B2C) or corporate (B2B).





Evaluation Criteria



The evaluation takes into account the level of adoption of best practices in one or more of the following areas:





  • Understanding customer needs (data collection, effective targeting).




  • Defining customer-centric service levels (defining internal metrics aligned with customer needs; service guarantees).




  • Effective complaints management.




  • Effective recovery mechanisms in the event of service failure.




  • Recruitment and training practices for customer contact employees.




  • Regular monitoring of customer satisfaction, followed by internal diffusion of the results and improvement measures.




Text: This award distinguishes projects that seek to foster collaboration with the EDP Group through mutual benefits in different interaction areas. Projects must draw on the supplier’s direct relationship with the EDP Group.



Evaluation Criteria



The evaluation takes into account the level of adoption of best practices in one or more of the following areas:





  • Integration of information systems and business processes (procurement, information sharing, etc.).




  • Joint efforts to carry out improvements (reduced costs and delivery/response times, improved quality, deadline compliance, inventories reduction, etc.).




  • Joint efforts in the development and introduction of new products or services.




  • Sharing and adopting best practices for mutual benefit.




  • Collaboration on a technical level.




This award acknowledges innovation projects focusing on products and services, processes, organization, communication and marketing, among other areas.



Evaluation Criteria



The evaluation takes into account the innovation level in the following aspects:





  • Innovation content (for instance, in the case of product innovation, the innovation level in the provided feature).




  • Innovation scope, considering the market’s specificity (innovation within the company, the Portuguese industry, the company’s target market, or worldwide) and the combination of different kinds of innovation.




This award distinguishes projects that have generated a positive social, ethical and environmental impact on society, local communities, consumers, employees and other stakeholders.



 Evaluation Criteria



The evaluation takes into account the level of adoption of best practices in one or more of the following areas:



Ethics and society



Labor practices and decent work (relations between management and employees, health and safety, training and education, diversity and equal opportunities, reconciliation of employees' personal and professional life).





  • Respect for human rights, including:




  • Investment and procurement practices, analysis of human rights compliance in investment decisions, suppliers selection, and procurement processes.




  • Prevention of discrimination (based on sexual orientation, nationality, physical ability, etc.).




  • Freedom of association and collective bargaining agreements. Child labor. Forced labor and slavery.




  • Society: anti-corruption practices, fair competition, contribution to the development of public policies.




  • Community engagement and development: the organization’s involvement in the development of the community where it operates, in order to help strengthen civil society and community welfare. Examples include: supporting local associations, promoting and supporting educational, training, cultural and charitable initiatives.




  • Product liability: customer health and safety, products and service labeling, marketing communications (transparency and impartiality), customer privacy.




  • Communication and transparency: adopting communication channels that foster transparency and point out the organization’s social responsibility goals, commitments and results (for instance, sustainability report, institutional website, etc.).





 Environment




  • Assessing and minimizing the activity’s environmental impact.

  • Environmental projects focusing on raw materials, energy, water, biodiversity, carbon emissions, effluents and waste, transport, minimizing the impact of products and services.


This award distinguishes the supplier that presented the most impacting project for the EDP Group. All projects submitted by the candidates in thematic categories will be considered, and it is not necessary to win any of those categories.



Evaluation Criteria



Projects will be specifically evaluated according to:





  • The magnitude of the results and their impact within the EDP Group.




  • The cross-cutting nature of the results, in particular their manifold financial impact (e.g.: increased sales, reduced costs), customer satisfaction, operational impact (e.g.:, reduced response times, reduced defects, employees' satisfaction, society, etc.)
