EDP Renováveis has agreed to enter into a transaction with a consortium of institutional equity investors for the investment in a portfolio of wind farm projects that started operations in 2008
EDP Renováveis, a subsidiary 77,5% controlled by EDP, has agreed through Horizon Wind Energy LLC, a fully-owned subsidiary of EDP Renováveis, S.A. in the USA, to enter into a transaction with a consortium of institutional equity investors composed of JPM Capital Corporation, New York Life Insurance Company and New York Life Insurance and Annuity Corporation for the investment in a portfolio of wind farm projects that started operations in 2008. The total contribution of this consortium for the transaction amounts to $265 million, of which $215 million to be invested in December 2008 and $50 million in January 2009.
