ERSE announces electricity tariffs for 2024

Lisbon, December 15th, 2023: The Portuguese Electricity Regulator (“ERSE”) released today the final document regarding electricity tariffs and prices in Portugal for 2024. The final document introduces the following changes, when compared to the proposal presented by ERSE last October 16 th, and disclosed to the market by EDP Energias de Portugal, S.A (“EDP”):

i) An increase of 2.9% in end users’ regulated electricity tariffs for 2024 in the normal low voltage (NLV) segment, compared to the year 2023 average, versus the 1.1% increase announced in October. Which includes residentials and SMEs electricity consumers. This reflects an increase in grid access tariffs to 66.2€/MWh versus 48.1€/MWh announced in October.

ii) Regulated gross profit for the activity of electricity distribution, operated by our subsidiary E-Redes, is €1,097 million in 2024, representing an increase of €4 million when compared to the announced in October.

The forecasted average purchase cost in wholesale electricity market for the supply of regulated clients assumed at 102.35€/MWh for 2024.
