RENEW distinguished the Quilt Block as the Wisconsin Renewable Energies Project of the Year, delivering commemorative plaques to representatives of EDPR, Dairyland Power Cooperative, local authorities and landowners. The Quilt Block, a 49-turbine project which produces 98 MW, was built by Houston-based EDPR and is operating and producing power for the Dairyland Power Cooperative. The project represents an investment of 167 million dollars and will provide energy to more than 25 thousand homes. In this project, EDPR will pay rent to the owners of the land throughout the life of the project and will also make large payments to the municipalities of Seymour and Lafayette counties.
