SMARTLAB-SAS is inaugurated by EDP Labelec and EDP Distribuição

On November 21st of 2019, EDP Labelec in partnership with EDP Distribuição marked with a ribbon-cutting ceremony the official opening of a new infrastructure called, SmartLab-Substation Automation Systems (SAS). This new Laboratory of EDP Labelec, intends to meet the new challenges in the field of Protection and Automation System (PAS), namely the development of PAS solutions that guarantee interoperability and interchangeability between manufacturers of such solutions.

The new infrastructure represents an initial investment of approximately 500 thousand euros.

During the event were demonstrated the first solutions to ensure the physical and electrical interchangeability, key aspects for the success of this project.

The event was attended by the Board of Directors of EDP Labelec and EDP Distribuição, as well as staff from the Departments of Dispatch and Operation, Substation Services, Technology and Innovation and Digital Grid Platform.
