Notification by Public Prosecutor's Office

Lisbon, July 13th, 2020: EDP - Energias de Portugal, S.A. (“EDP”) provides the following information to the market and to the public in general:
In line with news published by the Portuguese press yesterday, July 12th, EDP was notified today, by the Public Prosecutor’s Office (Departamento Central de Investigação e Acção Penal – DCIAP) that during the next days it should designate a legal representative to attend the DCIAP, in order to be appointed as defendant. Accordingly with the notification, the investigation is related to the hiring by EDP of the father of the Energy Secretary of State at the time, Artur Trindade.
This information is disclosed pursuant to the terms and for the purposes of the article 17 of Regulation (EU) No. 596/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council and of article 248-A of the Portuguese Securities code.
