Qualified Shareholding in EDP - State Street Corporation

Pursuant to the terms and for the purposes of article 244 of the Portuguese Securities code and of the CMVM Regulation 5/2008, EDP - Energias de Portugal, S.A. (“EDP”) is providing the following information to the market:

On October 25th, 2017, State Street Corporation notified EDP that, in accordance with article 20 of the Portuguese Securities Code, it had reached a qualifying shareholding of 73,111,024 ordinary shares of EDP, which correspond to a rounded total of 2.00% of EDP’s share capital and of the respective voting rights. This threshold was reached by State Street Corporation on October 23rd, 2017. Worth noting that 73,111,024 ordinary shares correspond to 1.99946% of EDP’s share capital and of the respective voting rights.

State Street Corporation also informed that the chain of entities relevant for the calculation of the significant shareholding in accordance with number 1 of article 20 of the Portuguese Securities Code was as shown in the attached file.
