The Scholar Internship is a flexible programme for students from all academic disciplines and educational establishments who wish to undertake an internship that is part of their educational plan and/or for those with an interest in completing an academic thesis.
The application process:
The second round of applications for this year will open in October!
The first round of applications take place in March and the second round in October. When the internships open, you will have the opportunity to apply and demonstrate your areas of interest and availability. The selection process is completely remote and consists of the following steps: application, curriculum screening, online tests, final interview.

The first professional experience I received in my area of academic education was through an internship at the EDP Group. I had the chance to work with colleagues from different areas and backgrounds within the Human Resources area, which allowed me to have a very comprehensive view of that field and determine which aspects would be of interest to me in the long term, after the internship had finished. Starting my career at EDP was decisive and allowed me to challenge myself at all levels, since I had the opportunity to work in different Group companies, and I strongly emphasise the teamwork and mutual help I experienced in each of them. To achieve our goals, we intend to attract young people through the various opportunities we have created, such as the EDP Scholar Internship.
The EDP Scholar Internship has a flexible duration, according to the needs of the those involved (participant, team and curriculum to be completed).
When you apply, we ask you about your areas of interest and your availability in terms of the internship’s duration and the period for which you are applying. Apply as soon as you know you want to do a curricular internship, even if it isn’t in the near future.
Yes, there is a possibility of completing an academic thesis during the curricular internship period, when you can take advantage of the support and knowledge of the people on the team you going to be part of.
No. As curricular internships are usually part of study plans, the relationship in such an internship is three-way, between the student, the educational institute and EDP. However, there is no need to have a prior agreement in place
We are looking for more than technical skills and academic knowledge; above all, we are looking for people who want to put their ambitions and skills into practice. Applications are welcome from people from all academic backgrounds. Through the EDP Scholar Internship you will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge in the professional area of your choice: management, economics and finance; sales, marketing and digital; engineering; IT, data science and analytics; legal and human resources; among others.
Yes, you can. We know that more and more young people want to try different professional areas, so you can apply to different functional areas.
No. There is also the EDP Summer Internship, which is a flexible short-term internship programme that allows interns to gain experience in a wide variety of professional areas. You can find out more about this programme here.
