Mitigating climate change
Reducing emissions to fight against climate change
Reducing GHG emissions is crucial to fight against climate change, through a strong commitment to increasing production from renewable sources, increasing consumption electrification and improve energy efficiency. EDP’s strategy is aligned with the need to decarbonise the sector, with a level of ambition translated into a set of medium/long term objectives and targets.

We will reach carbon neutrality
Decarbonise Generation
of renewable energy installed capacity by 2030
of renewable electricity generation by 2030
scope 1 and 2 emissions intensity (compared to 2020)
of gross additions by 2025-26
Electrify Consumption
customers with sustainable services by 2030
smart meters installed worldwide by 2030
distributed solar capacity on customers by 2025
electric vehicle charging points installed by 2025
We value international agreements and initiatives
EDP's commitment to the world is to achieve cleaner and greener energy. In addition to decarbonization, we are implementing measures to fight climate change, following the recommendations of the report by the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and adhering to numerous international initiatives that promote sustainability.
