Solidarity Mobility

Energy for future
Energy for future
A fair and informed transition to the electrical mobility.

The Solidarity Mobility, by EDP Foundation, is destined for the Social and Solidarity Sector, aiming to promote a fair and informed transition to electric mobility, ensuring that when it comes to the energy transition, no one is left behind.

No one is left behind

With the Solidarity Mobility program, EDP intends on supporting the third sector in the fair and informed transition for electrical mobility, promoting the carbon footprint in the sector and consumption savings.

In their first year of activity, in 2022, it predicts that the program will allow social sector institutions the following:

  • access to 20 vehicles 100% electric through a renting system;
  • installation of recharging wall boxes;
  • the co-participation of electricity costs;
  • training on efficient usage of electric vehicles.

The implementation will count on Leaseplan’s support, especially in the training component.

Mission to reduce gas emissions

Since there was a commitment set to sustainability, electric mobility is one of the main strategies on which EDP decided to bet in. Using electric vehicles helps with the reduction of the emission of greenhouse effect gases, as well as with a better harnessing of the electricity produced from renewable energies.

2022 Edition

The application process, which was between June 20th to July 30th, 2022, was open for every entity of Social Economics, without profit, constituted as Associations, Credit Unions, Foundations, or Social Solidarity Institutions, which develop their activity in the national territory. The applications are under analysis based on criteria of social impacts, as well as the number of beneficiaries of the candidate institution and the average number of trips.

The EDP Foundation has been actively working in the area of community impact ever since its constitution, focusing on inclusion and the improvement of the quality of life of people and communities in vulnerable situations. The strategic plan of EDP Foundation, designed in 2022, is aligned with the strategic goals of the Group since it’s a global reference in ESG - Environmental, Social, and Governance, and through the social investment, reinforces the desire to ensure cleaner energy access to everyone.
