Our testing laboratories ensure reliable results for assessing the quality of natural, wastewater, industrial, drinking water and different types of solid samples, with more than 400 tests accredited by the Portuguese Accreditation Institute (IPAC).

The main services of the area are:

• Ecological quality assessment of rivers, reservoirs and lakes;
• Physical-chemical, biological and hydromorphological quality monitoring of rivers, lakes and reservoirs;
• Underground water quality monitoring and assessment (piezometers, boreholes and wells);
• Quality control of water intended for human consumption;
• Identification, quantification and estimation of phytoplankton biovolume for natural and drinking waters;
• Characterisation of liquid and gaseous effluents and leachates;
• Evaluation of the effectiveness of ecological flows;
• Legislation and assessment of legal compliance;
• Consulting services in applied limnology and freshwater ecology;
• Analysis of biofuels and other solid fuels, including moisture content, calorific value, ash fusibility and environmentally relevant trace elements such as mercury;
• Chemical and environmental analyses in sediments and sludges, including dry matter, organic matter, granulometry and heavy metals;
• Analyses of water from the steam water and demineralised water circuit, to verify requirements; quality operational, at trace levels, such as in-line conductivity, TOC, chloride, sulphate, sodium and iron;
• Verification and calibration of in-line analysers for industrial facilities (e.g. steam water circuit and wastewater treatment facilities);
• Characterisation of corrosion products and deposits in boiler tubes;
