Topic: The role of Innovation in the energy transition

Overview: The pace required for the energy transition has never been so vibrant. The challenge is massive, and innovation is key for the world to achieve its proposed targets. Renewable power and electrification have grown significantly over the last decade and EDP is leading this clean energy revolution by changing tomorrow now and contributing to a more sustainable world. But, to go ahead, it's necessary to act on different fronts, and throughout this session, you will have the opportunity to find out more about how EDP is doing this path and how can you contribute to it by working with us.

Topic: Positive Energy Communities: enabling the energy transition from buildings to cities 

Overview: Buildings and cities, through energy efficiency and distributed energy resources, are key players in decarbonization. EDP NEW, particularly in the Positive Energy Community area, is developing R&D activities to make buildings and cities smarter, increase energy efficiency, enable the growth of renewable energy and storage and increase flexibility. In this session, we’ll discover what is being developed at NEW, the EDP Group's R&D center.

Speaker: André Coelho, Head of Asset Inspection at EDP Labelec

Topic: The use of LiDAR on overhead power line inspection

Overview: LiDAR technology is a system that can be installed on a manned or unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) and enables three-dimensional digital mapping. The data allows, for example, the determination of distances between power lines and surrounding obstacles and the determination of biomass volume for fuel range management purposes. The presentation aims to present some practical cases of using LiDAR technology.
