Through the Materiality Process, we identifiy the important themes for its stakeholders by cross-referencing them with their importance to business. This analysis supports the decision-making process and the development of strategies in the organization, particularly the definition of our sustainability strategy. 

This process results in the identification of the Material Issues for EDP, which represent those that may affect the value creation of the company in the short, medium or long term and which are recognized as important for its different stakeholder groups. Due to this identification, it is possible to optimize the strategic orientation of the company and direct its internal management in order to internalize and respond to these Material Issues. 

In 2019, as a result of the conducted analysis, 23 material themes were identified for the Group, whose relevance to the company and society is systematized in the matrix below:
