We are pioneers on the renewables sector in Poland, with a portfolio of projects including wind, solar and storage initiatives, as well as hybrid projects.

EDP in France

Accelerating the energy transition in the country, in 2023, EDP started the construction of its first photovoltaic project in France adding to its existing wind farms.

EDP in Italy

With its first wind farm in 2012, EDP launched its presence and the renewable energy focus in Italy. In 2024 two additional large-scale solar plants were connected to the grid.

EDP in United Kingdom

Adding to our UK portfolio with onshore and storage projects, EDP also installed its first stand-alone Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) project in Europe.

EDPR entered in Romania's market in 2008, through the acquisition of several wind projects, contributing to accelerate the country’s much needed energy transition.

We entered Greece with the award of two 20-year CfDs for a wind farm, while securing additional wind projects via auctions. We also partnered with Ellaktor, Greece's largest infrastructure group, to jointly develop onshore wind opportunities, combining our expertise and development capacity.

Dedicated to supporting the Netherlands' energy transition objectives, EDP has taken another step by starting operation of its first project in the country, a photovoltaic facility developed through Kronos Solar Situated in Berkelland, Gelderland.

After entering the country in 2021, securing a 15-year Contract-for-Difference ("CfD") to sell energy produced by a solar photovoltaic project, EDP confirms its growth strategy in Hungary reaching 75 MW in this market, after adding the Nyirseg photovoltaic project.

How EDP is creating an Asturian green hydrogen valley

This is a pioneering initiative transforming the Aboño thermal power plant into a green hub to produce and distribute renewable hydrogen, aiming to decarbonize the economy in the region of Asturias, Spain.

New hybrid power plants come into EDP’s operation

Located in Penela and Ansião, in the country’s Central Region, the project combines wind and solar power generation on one site—the second of its kind to come into operation in Portugal.

Konary

First hybrid project in Poland boosts clean energy production
With a combined capacity of 124.5 MWp (115.5 MWac), the Konary wind-solar hybrid project produced over 180 GWh for the Polish grid, increasing the renewable production of the site up to almost 20%.
