Fraudulent EDP website

EDP alerts to the existence of a fraudulent website of unknown origin.

EDP learned today of the existence of a fraudulent website of unknown origin, which uses the address www.edp-pt.net for a phishing attack. EDP warns customers not to use or provide any personal data on that website.
They may, however, continue to securely access all EDP websites, including the corporate and the EDP Comercial website.
The attack in question does not affect EDP's information systems. All links to this fraudulent website activate the download and installation of malicious software (malware) that has the sole purpose of capturing credentials or other sensitive customer information for later fraudulent use.
This type of malicious action, called Phishing, seeks, abusively, personal data by messages that lead the user to fake sites, faithful copies of ones that he or she regularly accesses, requesting the input of confidential data. In order to prevent these attacks we suggest that you see more information about Information Security here.
EDP has warned its customers through their websites, also by being in contact with several national entities that collaborate in the defense of information security.
