The Group entered the US market in 2007 and, through EDP Renewables North America (EDPR NA), now has a significant presence in the US, having doubled the wind energy production, thus becoming one of the largest producers worldwide. The US is the largest market in terms of installed capacity and production, and is expected to be one of the leaders in growth of renewable energy by 2040. 

EDPR NA is based in Houston, Texas, but there are offices and wind farms all over the US. 

California, in particular, has one wind farm, Rising Tree, and one solar park, Lone Valley.

At the same time, EDPR is strengthening its position in California with its sponsorship of Rock in Rio Las Vegas, that takes place between 8 and 16 May.
