The EDP Group is among the world's best in the Top 250 Energy Company Rankings, organized by Platts, whose fifth edition was held yesterday in Singapore.

The Portuguese company stands out for its financial performance, taking the 69th position in the global ranking.

If we consider the electric utilities segment in EMEA (Europe, Midlle East and Africa), the Portuguese energy company secures the 5th place.

Platts' Top 250 Global Energy Companies Rankings is topped by ExxonMobil Corp, followed by Chevron Corp. (both American) and Royal Dutch Shell Plc. (Europe)

This ranking recognizes the outstanding performance of leading energy companies worldwide. The companies included in this list stand out for their remarkable performance and for the dedication of their teams.

The companies, which must have minimum assets of five billion dollars to be eligible, are ranked according to four criteria: assets value, sales, profit and return on invested capital. A company's final ranking is the sum of its positions in these four tables.

Like Standards and Poor's (S&P), Platts is part of the McGraw-Hill information group, and it specializes in energy industry information.
