Pursuant to the terms and for the purposes of article 244 of the Portuguese Securities code and of the CMVM Regulation 5/2008, EDP - Energias de Portugal, S.A. (“EDP”) is providing the following information to the market:

On February 1st, 2018, State Street Corporation notified EDP that, in accordance with article 20 of the Portuguese Securities Code, it decreased its shareholding to 73,126,582 shares of EDP, which corresponds to less than 2% of EDP’s share capital and of the respective voting rights. This threshold was crossed by State Street Corporation on January 26th, 2018. 

Subsequently, on February 2nd, 2018, State Street Corporation notified EDP that, in accordance with article 20 of the Portuguese Securities Code, it had reached a qualifying shareholding of 73,427,450 ordinary shares of EDP, which correspond to a total of 2.01% of EDP’s share capital and of the respective voting rights. This threshold was reached by State Street Corporation on January 29th, 2018. 

State Street Corporation also informed that the chain of entities relevant for the calculation of the significant shareholding, in accordance with number 1 of article 20 of the Portuguese Securities Code, was as mentioned in the attachment.
