Launched in early 2020, the book Dez Anos Barragens is now in digital format and accessible to everyone.

Written by a team of EDP Produção employees, the book describes the engineering of the largest hydroelectricity investment plan in Portugal.

This investment plan, which kicked off in 2007 and was concluded in 2017, has made it possible to improve the power capacity of Picote, Bemposta, Alqueva, Salamonde and Venda Nova and to create the Baixo Sabor, Foz Tua and Ribeiradio-Ermida hydroelectric stations.

Using text, photographs, drawings and diagrams, each chapter guides us through each of these works, describing the main construction stages and the beginning of operation. The book is thus not only a reflection on these specific projects, but also a demonstration of the competence and relevance of EDP Produção's engineering team.
