EdpON Magazine and EDP ONE Encontros 2014 have been awarded by the largest European event dedicated to internal communication

EdpON Magazine and the project EDP ONE Encontros 2014 have won the 1st place in the 2015 FEIEA Awards, in the categories 'Best multi-language publication' and 'Best internal communication event', respectively. The distinction took place last night in Rome, Italy.

The EDP Magazine was the first communication platform launched by the company. Created in 1988, it now reaches 28.000 readers every two months, in the 14 locations where the Group operates. Exploring multiple synergies with other internal media within the Group - intranet, television and radio -, the magazine meets the twin challenges of globalization and localization by being split into two sections: a global section, with issues that are relevant to the whole Group, and local section featuring the specificities of each region. Four versions are produced for the local section: ON Portugal, ON Brasil, ON España and ON Renew. Focused on the market, projects, people and opinions, this is an internal magazine that is always open to the outside world.

The EDP Meetings (Encontros EDP) were held in December 2014, in Lisbon, bringing together 7000 Portugal-based employees over three days. An EDP tradition, the employees' meeting is one of the company's most powerful internal communication tools; its goal is to share strategies, take stock of the progress made, and draw future prospects.

Being one of the largest human resources events in Portugal, the EDP Meeting, under the motto 'EDP One - Together for a Better energy', stood out for the logistics aspect: eight months of preparation, 72 consecutive hours assembling structures, 450 professionals, a 300m long and 10m high giant screen, 90% lighting with low power LEDs, and 95 buses to transport all employees from across the country. In Portugal, the event is held by the company Global Challenge Ativism.

A large-sized work meeting, in a festive, charitable environment. The toys offered by the employees were given to institutionalized children, while food items collected by Refood and Comunidade Vida e Paz. The model has been replicated in Spain, the US and Brazil.

In recent years, the communication of the EDP Group has been distinguished with several national and international awards, and these FEIA awards represent, once again, the recognition for the work that the Group has been doing in the field of communication.

EDP had already been distinguished at the 2014 FEIEA awards, when the Group's intranet claimed the 1st place. FEIEA is a federation that brings together several European corporate communication associations. These awards celebrate the best internal corporate communication practices in various categories and subcategories dedicated to events, strategies and internal communication media, among others.
