“The will to change is a renewable resource”

It was in 2017, on the stage of the Web Summit, that Al Gore, the former vice-president of the USA and Nobel Peace Prize winner in 2007, uttered this sentence. Five years have passed, but its relevance remains, as does the urgency of that change. At EDP, we believe that change is made with innovation and that is why, for the seventh consecutive year, we were partners of the largest technology conference in Europe, the Web Summit. With a new identity that visually translates the brand's commitments, we were at this Web Summit with around 180 participants and with the desire to strengthen EDP's commitment to innovation, entrepreneurship, and the start-up ecosystem, but above all to renewable energy. We want to be 100% green by 2030 and it is this goal that guides our action. Because we have chosen the planet.

Our stand

Among the different dynamics that our stand offered, attendees found several innovation promotional videos with our strategic and green goals for 2030. Each video had a QR code leading participants to answer a few questions which if correctly answered, were rewarded.

Startup island

Once again we invited selected startups from its open innovation ecosystem to showcase their innovative solutions at the Web Summit. These are companies that collaborated with us through the Free Electrons and Energy Starter programs or that have been invested by EDP Ventures.
