Lisa Assunção was born in Gabon, but still a baby, she moved to São Tomé and Príncipe, where she lived until she was a teenager. It was the desire for a better life that brought her to Portugal. She came alone to study, and even today she recalls that, besides the cold weather, the strongest impact of arriving in Portugal was to see cities where there was light all night long. After all, in São Tomé, at night the lights were turned off and electricity failed several times almost every week, which forced her to study with an oil lamp. Today, she lives in Portugal and it is here that she wants her three children and her younger sister, who has since moved to Lisbon, to build their future.
